Solana NFTs on OpenSea in April
To announce the integration, OpenSea released a 16-second video on Twitter, with various popular Solana collections stating their plans to list on the marketplace. With OpenSea teasing the integration of the Solana blockchain, Solana (SOL) NFT holders may soon have a new trading alternative.
The text “wen Solana???” was typed into a search box in a 16-second video uploaded by the OpenSea Twitter account, revealing that the marketplace will support Solana in April.
For months, rumors have persisted that OpenSea will support Solana NFTs. Jane Manchun Wong, a security researcher, named on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list for her high-profile tech leak scoops, released photos from OpenSea’s platform on Twitter in January.
The photos show Solana as an option in the marketplace’s “blockchains filter” and the Phantom Solana crypto wallet appearing in a list of supported wallets. At the time, OpenSea responded to Wong’s tweet with a “wide eyes” emoji but did not confirm or refute the accuracy of the story.
SolPunks, Turtles, Remnants, and the Degenerate Ape Academy are famous Solana NFT enterprises that announced their plan to list with OpenSea in April.
OpenSea will compete directly with Magic Eden, Solanart, and Solsea, the existing leading NFT marketplaces on the Solana blockchain, due to the Solana integration.
Bored Ape NFT sells for $140
A Bored Ape NFT and a Mutant Ape NFT were sold for $140 by an OpenSea user known as “cchan.”
On Monday, Mar. 28, a user placed offers on the NFTs that accepted by cchan, and the sales made within a minute of each other, with BAYC #835 selling for 115 DAI and MAYC #11670 selling for 25 DAI, both of which are 99 percent below the current floor price.
DAI is a diamond-themed US dollar stablecoin, and it’s unclear whether cchan mistook the offers for Ethereum (ETH), which would have been worth $470,000, or whether the sales were the product of a hack.
Ross Ulbricht, the imprisoned founder of the defunct darknet marketplace “Silk Road,” is planning to release a new batch of NFTs in April at the Bitcoin 2022 conference in Miami, with proceeds going to enable children visit their parents in prison.
Ulbricht sold a collection for $6.2 million at the Art Basel Miami auction in December 2021. FreeRossDAO, a decentralized autonomous organization, purchased the group to share Ross’s work with the world and give everyone a unique opportunity to own a piece of it.
Between March 24-27, 2022, the Decentraland staged the Metaverse Fashion Week, drawing over 70 major fashion labels and artists, including Tommy Hilfiger, Dolce, Gabbana, & Estée Lauder.
